Gear

What's in the bag. I keep it small.

Camera bag and gear

Camera

Sony A7C II

Full-frame compact mirrorless. The combination of image quality and portability is what keeps me coming back. It disappears into a small bag and never feels like a burden.

Fujifilm X-T20

My walking-around camera. Paired with the 7Artisans 35mm manual focus lens it's a slow, deliberate way to shoot — which is sometimes exactly right.

Lens

Tamron 20–40mm f/2.8

My primary lens on the Sony. Wide enough for environmental portraits and street, long enough for a tighter frame. The constant f/2.8 across the range makes it dependable in low light.

Tamron 35–100mm f/2.8

Travel zoom lens for the Sony. I use it when I want to get a bit more distance from the subject or compress the background. It's also great for portraits when I want that classic short tele focal length look without switching lenses.

Fujinon 18–55mm f/2.8–4

The zoom that lives on the X-T20 when I want more flexibility. Fujifilm's color science does the heavy lifting.

7Artisans 35mm f/1.2 (Fuji X)

Manual focus only. Using it forces me to slow down, pre-focus, and wait for the moment to come to me. Renders with a character that autofocus primes rarely match.

Phone

iPhone 15 Pro

The camera that's always with me. A lot of the photos I'm happiest with were shot on this. Computational photography has quietly become extraordinary.

Audio

DJI Mic Mini

A compact wireless microphone I use when capturing video alongside stills. Small enough to forget you're wearing it.

Carry

Bellroy Sling Bag

My everyday bag for short outings. It fits a camera, two lenses, and some essentials without being bulky. The design is simple and functional, which suits my needs.

Peak Design Travel Backpack

My go-to bag for travel and photowalks. It fits my camera gear and a few essentials without being bulky. The design is thoughtful, making it easy to access my gear on the go.

Accesories

ND Filter

For long exposures in daylight — slowing water, smoothing crowds, or just controlling shutter speed in bright conditions.

Black Mist Filter

Adds a soft halation around highlights. Subtle when used carefully, and it takes some of the clinical edge off a modern sensor.
